Okay.. yes.. i am a bit mellow today… but admit it, this is a beautiful song, isnt it…
Bye Jakarta, Welcome Japan !!
Hello there journal, I know it’s a bit late.. but anyway… Happy New Year 2011!! Hope this year’s full of happiness and happiness and happiness..
It’s been a long time since i never write to you again.. the only reason is because i’m too busy at the office and too tired of the traffic jam..** such a cheesy reason
Well..things has been happened to me lately in the early 2011.. the biggest one is that I am now not in Jakarta, but in Japan.. yay!!..
You must be wondering why.. well, I’m here to tell you the story..
So..it’s all happened when my boss at the office suddenly, without any particular reason, encouraged me to apply a training to Japan.. At that time, I just said to my boss, “okay, I will learn about the offer first”.. Then I read all the info I need.. The training is about “Strategies of Development on Climate Change”. Climate Change is not a new thing for me.. I learned it a lot when I were in Griffith University..
I then applied and two weeks later I got a call that I was accepted for the training in Japan.. I was a bit surprised and not expected this, because the training will be for 2 months.. and actually it’s not a good time to go to Japan in these months, coz it’s winter time..
I never imagine going to Japan someday..
I went to Japan on Sunday night with JAL (Japan Airlines) and arrived last week on Monday morning at Narita airport at 6.50 pm.. It took about 6 hours flight from Jakarta to Japan.. n then from Tokyo, I went to Tsukuba by car coz there’s a research center where I will spend most of my time there.. Well, jst a tip.. you have to bring international adapter to Japan, it’s a MUST!!..
Anyway.. here I am now in Tokyo for ‘Development of Strategies on Climate Change’ training program.. J The trainees come from everywhere: Peru, Venezuela, Nigeria, China, Mauritius, Maldives, and 3 people from Indonesia..
I will write a bit about my training program.. It was sponsored by Japan Government and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).. I am finding this program very useful for me, as I am quite new in environmental issues especially climate change.. The program is about how to develop the Action Plan on Climate Change situation and challenge in our country..
From Monday to Friday, we study from 9.30am till around 4 pm.. We also have basic Japanese class language twice a week, which is good, so we can speak a little bit of Japanese.. On Saturday, there’s a bus here that will send us to Tsukuba Center, a famous shopping mall here..
Luckily I don’t have any trouble with Japanese food, I really like sushi and soba and curry and miso and more.. To those who don’t like Japanese food, you better brought some food like instant noodle from home…
On last Tuesday, we went to Tokyo from Tsukuba by train.. The train was very crowded, coz Japanese like to use train rather than bus or car.. It’s about an hour from Tsukuba to Tokyo by train, and most of us were standing all the way to Tokyo..
In Tokyo, we had time to go to Tokyo tower.. Tokyo tower looks like any other ordinary tower, the difference is that it has red colour.. I put some pictures on this blog..
Anyway… on Sunday morning… Suddenly the snow fell down from the sky… haha, it was my first experience… so, I was very excited!!… The snow usually comes on February, so I was very lucky.. Me and some friends went outside from some pictures.. The snow didn’t last so long, coz it’s only some light snow.. But I like snow, so I am looking forward for February…
Well… I’m trying to update my story at least once a week.. So, hopefully I will write to you again next week at least…
And…………….. below are some pictures for your views.. (klik to enlarge)
Err….I have to go now, I have a Nihon go (Japanese language) class….
Sayonara….Dewa Matta… (means.. bye2, see you again)
Konbanwa (means… good night)
